Doctrinal Statement of Faith
- We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, as verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and
life. (II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:21)
- We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and these three are co-equal. (Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14)
- We believe that man was created in the image of God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature. We further believe that in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, they become sinners in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 3:1-19, Romans 5:12, Romans 3:1-12)
- We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and is true God and true man. (Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 1:18-25)
- We believe that the LORD Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him as Savior are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. (I Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 5:8, II Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 9:14)
- We believe in the physical resurrection of the crucified body of our LORD, in his ascension into heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate. (Luke 24:36-43, Acts 1:9-11, Hebrews 4:14-15)
- We believe in “that blessed hope”, the personal, premillenial, and imminent return of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18, II Thessalonians 2:1-12)
- We believe that all who receive by faith the LORD Jesus Christ as Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become the children of God. (John 3:5, John 1:12-13, I John 5:11-13)
- We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessed- ness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 20:12-15, Luke 16:19-31, II Corinthians 5:8, Philippians 1:23)
- We believe in the third person of the trinity, the Holy Spirit, as existing equally with the Father and the Son. He is a person. (Hebrews 9:14, John 15:26)
- Church Ordinances:
- Baptism: We believe that Christian baptism is the believer’s immersion in water symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of our LORD, demonstrating the believer’s death to sin and commitment to a new life. (Romans 6:3-6)
- The LORD’s Supper: We believe that the LORD’s Supper is a memorial of the death of the LORD Jesus Christ, whereupon the believer solemnly examines himself for worthiness. (I Corinthians 11:22-32)
